Long Time, No See(Or Write)!

Hey everyone!!

First off let me apologize for the long period of no updates from us! Michelle and I have been crazy busy with everything, and now it’s finally settling down.

Since we last posted, we stayed with my grandparents for a short while until we found a new apartment closer to work. While we were there we spent some quality time there with them and did some home improvement work around the house. After living at college for the past four years, I almost forgot how much work it can be owning a house!

While we were there, Michelle got a Job!! All the hard work putting out resumes and prepping for interviews paid off and she is now employed as a coordinator at a Recruiting Firm! She is very happy there and really enjoys her job. Shortly after, I received an offer from another recruiting firm to be a Technical Recruiter! I’ve always enjoyed learning new things about the Information Technology world, but never really had a mind for it, so this job is perfect for me! I get to talk to interesting people everyday and learn new and exciting things about technology.

We have also moved into a new apartment! It’s close to both our families, close to both our places of work and we absolutely love the place! It was a new adventure moving out of college into our first real place with real jobs but it all went smoothly!

I hope you all are doing well and are having an awesome summer! We’ll be writing a lot more often about our adventures here and we hope to hear about some of yours as well!

Talk to you all soon!

Take A Breath

Hi Everybody!

Tyler here, hope you’re all doing well! This week is kind of busy for me and Michelle. Along with getting ready to move out from our apartment, I’m still trying to finish my undergraduate degree. Michelle graduated a semester early and now I am just trying to finish up my last semester.

Trying to get my life for after college set up along with finishing my degree isn’t the easiest thing in the world, and as anyone would sometimes I get stressed. The way I deal with this is to just take a five-minute break. Take a walk, get a snack, check twitter, just take a break for a little bit and try and de-stress. Take a few deep breaths and a few steps back, and you will feel a lot better. Granted, you can’t always do this but when you can do it!

Everyone has their own way to de-stress and this one is mine! Feel free to tell us yours!

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Tyler

Our New (Elderly) Roommates

Hello Everyone!

We hope you enjoyed your Sunday!

Today was not your typical relaxing Sunday for the two of us.

Tyler and I decided that we were going to move in with his grandparents to help care for them. Both Nana and Bepe are 88 years old. We can learn so much from them; they have lived through war times,  lived in three different states, raised three children and now have 6 grandchildren.

They are two very impressive people! Bepe just got out of the hospital and has a hard time getting around lately. Nana gets confused often and they both just need some extra help so they can stay in their own home and keep their independence!

So we are moving in. We turned their basement into an apartment and have been working on it all day! We started by going through all their stuff that has been stored away down there. At the end of the day I can say I’ve learned a lot about these two. We found pictures of them throughout their lives; as well as, their parents and their grandparents! It was quite the eye opening experience to see how much time has changed!

After that we cleaned out some of the furniture that they had put down there and finally we dusted, vacuumed, and cleaned everything to start with a fresh slate! We organized and started planning out what will go where!

I must say it was a very productive Sunday, we will keep you updated on the move!

BOSTON!

Hello Everyone,

If you do not read my other blog inspiringthegirls.com let me introduce myself! I am Michelle, Tyler’s wife, I am 22 years old.

Anyway today Tyler and I got to explore the beautiful city of Boston, Massachusetts! My sister-in-law Heather goes to school in the city and we drove in to see her!

While we were there we got to explore the beautiful campus, got some great Mexican food, and even visited a city Target which had multiple floors and was very Shiny!

It was a great day all together! We live in a very small town so it’s quite the eye opener every time we go into the city! For one it is filled with lots of people, some of whom are just angry because of the copious amounts of traffic! There is so much to do in the city so many restaurants and so many stores!

If any of you get the chance to visit this great city, I highly recommend the trip.

XOXO

Hello people of the internet!

Hope you’re all having an awesome day so far! Let me introduce myself(Or reintroduce myself if you’re an avid reader of Michelle’s blog) my name is Tyler and I’m Michelle’s Husband! I’ve written for her blog a few times before, but I will be writing for this section of the blog more frequently. Michelle and I are spending the weekend down at the Cape (Cape Cod in Massachusetts for our non-New England readers) with some of my extended family for a memorial service for my great-uncle. He passed away recently and is being honored for his military service.

While this is a very sad time, I do get to reconnect with some extended family that I have not seen since I was very little.I am very excited to see all of my family that I have not seen and introduce them to Michelle! This is our first big family gathering since our wedding in January, and we will be sure to keep you updated!

I’m really excited to get this part of the blog going and I can’t wait to interact with all of you soon! If there’s anything you’d like to see talked about, or if you just have questions please feel free to reach out on Twitter @inspirethegirl or via email at Inspiringthegirlsblog@gmail.com.
